Higher Efficiency Through Sustainability

At Guest Services, we recognize that recommending sustainability policies and procedures is an essential aspect of our ongoing, responsible business strategy. It is also a concept that we integrate into our various management practices. A broader, more strategic plan for driving sustainability initiatives not only spurs efficiency and innovation across entire operations, it also satisfies guest needs and influences how suppliers operate.

Through collaboration with our clients, employees, suppliers and business partners, we incorporate sustainable practices into our business and personal lives, actively practicing recycling/composting and energy conservation, and making sound environmental policy a part of our business model. We actively engage in local business and volunteer initiatives, take a socially responsible approach toward improving the environment, and continually improve and innovate on practices aimed at offering our customers a wide variety of healthy, responsible food choices and creating food offerings that make it easy for customers to eat healthy.

OUR HEALTH


Our Health is a program that promotes simple, healthy cooking techniques throughout the cafés. Through this program we make it easy for consumers to make educated choices about the food they eat. We start with simple, healthy ingredients and cook them in the right proportions using cooking techniques that capture the flavor and retain the nutrients without adding an excessive amount of fat, sugar or salt. Herbs and spices inspire our recipes; broths add flavor and style; and steaming, roasting and sautéing create delectable dishes that satisfy in a delicious, healthy way.

HEALTHY COURSE PROGRAM


The Healthy Course is a component of Our Health. Our stations offer Healthy Course options that meet the following nutrition criteria: under 600 calories, less than 30% calories from fat, zero trans fat, no more than 3 g saturated fat, less than 100 mg of cholesterol, less than 1,000 mg of sodium, and at least 3 grams of fiber. Vegetarian options are available at every meal.

We will continue to strengthen our existing programs around recycling, reusing, repurposing and composting, and to develop new initiatives that will ensure we are positioned to be proactive in this critical area.

Menus are written based on seasonality and availability of regional fresh product; whenever possible, these menus are procured from local sources, thereby boosting the local economy. We value being part of the communities in which we operate, and we support them by contributing to their causes and engaging in their activities. We adhere to stringent sustainability practices when it comes to the food we prepare for our guests. All of our fresh and frozen seafood comes from sustainable sources and is harvested in a manner that does not harm the environment. We only serve premium quality ground beef, free of ammoniated additives.
All of the chicken and pork we serve is free of added growth hormones.
